Airstreams Renewables, Inc. Continues Growth to Meet Demand

Tehachapi, CA – Airstreams Renewables, Inc. (ARI) receives final approval for complete development of its Green Corner from the Kern County Board of Supervisors that will expand its training space by close to 15,000 sqft with the first of four facilities.

"Our new renewable energy technical training center will provide a comprehensive training experience", said Mike Messier, ARI’s VP of Training. "because it is located in California’s wind corridor our students have access to operating wind turbines and will have access to a state of the art 14 acre solar field being developed adjacent to where our facility will be completed. We are also excited about the fact that our training facility is being constructed following a green energy design, making the building itself a renewable energy laboratory."

Airstreams Renewables Inc. (ARI) was established in Tehachapi, California in 2003. ARI’s educational programs are taught by industry experts with over 200 years of combined experience in the wind and renewable energy industry. ARI was responsible for the development of California’s first comprehensive entry level, modular wind technician training program for the Community College system in California, which is now being implemented across the state. ARI has provided faculty training for wind turbine technician training programs, with over 50 potential wind technician faculty trained by ARI.

Since its classroom training began at its Tehachapi, CA based facility in May 2008, ARI has seen continued demand for its technical and safety training programs. One year later, ARI has expanded its operations into an 8000 sq ft building until its new training center is completed in order to offer more hands on experience into both the technical and safety aspects of wind energy.

In addition, ARI continues developing partnerships with numerous entities focused on education and job creation such as; the California Community College’s Economic and Workforce Development, Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest, California, High Plains Technology Center in Woodward, Oklahoma and Rural Learning Center in Howard, South Dakota.

In other news, ARI and Troop Transition, a company that provides on-base training to active duty servicemen and woman, are finalizing a partnership to provide renewable energy training through their new Troops2Energy program. Troop Transition is already successfully operating two other transition programs, Troops 2 Truckers and Troops 2 Roughnecks. Troops2Energy will help train and place returning vets into renewable jobs.
